The Benefits Of Staying Organized

Keeping your home organized and clean shouldn’t be only for aesthetic purposes. I mean don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love clean, minimalist, and organized homes/spaces. I’m a very visual person, so I do tend to focus a lot on the aesthetics and details of things. But, I’ve learned that an organized home has far more benefits than just having an “aesthetic picture ready home“.

Some of the benefits of being organized:

  • Increases productivity
  • Improves your mood overall
  • Reduces stress and frustration
  • Keeps you prepared (for random guests who show up at your house)
  • Boosts your energy
  • Reduces clutter
  • Saves you time (you can find everything quickly)

Tips To Help You Stay Organized

Organization may come easier to some more than others. Personally, I am a very organized person, so cleaning, decluttering, and organizing comes very naturally to me. However, I know that that’s not the case for everyone. So, below I’m going to share some 3 tips that may be helpful to you.

TIP #1 – Divide your chores

Cleaning your entire house in one day can be very overwhelming. What I find helpful is dividing up my tasks in different days or times during the day. Like the morning you can do certain tasks, noon and evening you can rest from all cleaning tasks, and at night you can assign yourself other tasks.

TIP #2 – Entertain yourself

What always enhances my experience when I’m cleaning or organizing a space is either listening to music or listening to a podcast. Sometimes I will listen to music to boost my mood and energy. Other times I will put on a podcast and enrich my soul while I’m organizing.

TIP #3 – Don’t let things pile up

So something that I have learned is that the more things you have to clean, the more overwhelming it is to clean. Cleaning doesn’t have to be a horrible, draining, or overwhelming experience. Of course there will be certain days that you’ll have to deep clean your house. And that requires more time and effort from your part. But if you clean up after yourself on a daily basis, you’ll realize that keeping your home clean daily isn’t too hard. Don’t let dishes pile up, laundry pile up, trash pile up, you get the point.
