25 Things To Do When You’re Bored – Blogger Edition

Although this particular list was designed for bloggers, I am more than positive you can still find something to do on this list even if you’re not a blogger. So, enjoy!

1. READ A BLOG POST

Not only is this a good time to support other bloggers, but it’s also a good time to inspired yourself to write. Honestly, I always get inspired to blog when I read a post that was written with passion.

2. BRAINSTORM BLOG POST IDEAS

Give your brain the chance to dump any and all ideas you may have on to paper.

3. LISTEN TO A PODCAST

Preferably a motivational blogging podcast! I love listening to The Boss Girl Bloggers Podcast. I always get motivated to blog when I listen to this podcast. Podcasts can be educational as well as inspirational. A win-win, if you ask me!

4. UPDATE OLD BLOG POSTS

It’s always important to go back to old posts to update, edit, and optimize them for SEO. You can add new information, edit your keywords, update your images, and links!

5. WRITE A BLOG POST

Cook up a new blog post or even create a new series on your blog.

6. GO ON PINTEREST

The abundance of ideas and inspiration on Pinterest is mind-blowing. Whenever I’m bored, lacking blog post ideas, or need inspiration, Pinterest is my go-to place (psst, click here and let’s be friends on Pinterest!)

7. READ INSPIRATIONAL QUOTES

Not only do I love going on Pinterest to promote my blog posts, find inspiration, but I also love going on Pinterest to read uplifting and inspirational quotes. I even have a inspirational board (click here to check it out!) where I love storing quotes that I find.

8. CREATE PINS

One of my favorite blogging tasks is creating pins! If you want to increase your traffic on Pinterest, you have to be posting fresh pins daily. So, whenever you’re feeling bored, batch create pins. That way you’ll have enough pins to schedule for your blog. You can easily batch-create pins using Pinterest templates. Check out my Pinterest templates shop, here!

9. POST A QUOTE ON TWITTER

One of the new things I have started doing on Twitter is posting a daily quote. It literally takes me about 10 minutes to find a quote I love and tweet it out for everyone to see. This is also one of my favorite ways to keep my account active on Twitter.

10. PLAN YOUR INSTAGRAM FEED

Extra minutes on your hands means you have extra time to plan out your Instagram feed! This is so helpful is you want a cohesive aesthetic theme. I currently use a free app called preview to plan out my instagram feed. This app is amazing because it lets you add multiple photos, drag them around until you like what your feed looks like, and once you’re satisfied you can manually upload to Instagram straight from there!

11. SCHEDULE PINS AND TWEETS

Scheduling pins and tweets beforehand (a week or month in advance) helps you get ahead of things, continue to promote your content daily, and remain active on both platforms even when you’re not physically online. I like to make sure I have at least a few tweets and pins go out each day. I manually schedule pins directly on Pinterest and tweets straight from the Twitter on desktop!

12. ENGAGE ON INSTAGRAM

Go through your Instagram feed and select 10 posts to like and comment on. This is a great way to motivate yourself to post on your account and to make new friends! Who knows, you’ll probably get likes and comments in return! 🙂

13. RESPOND TO YOUR MESSAGES

If for whatever reason you didn’t have time before and left your audience on read, now would be the perfect time to respond to all comments. Engaging with your audience shouldn’t be an option, but a priority. It is so important to build a strong relationship with your audience.

14. PARTICIPATE IN TWITTER THREADS

A great way to meet other bloggers, get your work noticed, promote your socials, and grow your following is through threads.

15. PROMOTE YOUR BLOG POSTS

Don’t let your old blog posts be forgotten! Take a moment to promote some of your older posts on Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.

16. TAKE PHOTOS FOR YOUR BLOG + SOCIALS

How’s the lighting today? If it’s in your favor, get your camera or phone out. You can either gather items to photograph at home, go outside to take photos of cool places you explore, or get dressed up and have a little photoshoot with lots of selfies! 😉

17. POST ON INSTAGRAM

If you want to grow your Instagram account, you have to be active. Try to post on your stories daily and on your feed at least 4x a week!
