5 Good Reasons To Workout Regularly
While working out daily may be easy for some people, it can be quite challenging for others. I personally don’t need much motivation to get me to workout because I genuinely enjoy doing it. To me, working out is more like a hobby than it is a healthy habit that “I have to do”. However, there are still days where I don’t feel like working out. And on those days, I need to remind myself why I workout – the purpose and benefit behind exercising. Knowing why you workout will help you remain consistent even on days where working out is the last thing you want to do. So, if getting a six-pack, toning your body, losing weight, or staying active doesn’t do the trick for you, here are 5 good reasons to workout regularly.

FINDING A PURPOSE BEHIND EVERYTHING
Why bother doing something if there is no purpose behind it? Everything in life has to be created and executed with purpose.
If eating wouldn’t be important for your well-being and bring you satisfaction, would you still spend time eating 3-4 times a day?
I definitely wouldn’t. I would rather use that time working, practicing a hobby, or even relaxing. However, since I know that eating is necessary, I make sure to make time to eat all of my meals everyday. The same concept applies to working out. If you don’t know why you’re doing it, it’s very difficult to remain consistent. If you just workout for the sake of working out, sooner or later you will give up.
You have to have a why behind what you’re doing. Why do you workout? Why should you workout? When you have a why, you automatically have a reason to workout regardless of how challenging and time-consuming it may be. The why gives you the strength to not only do the possible and easy, but to do the impossible and challenge as well.
WHY DO YOU WORKOUT?
So let me ask you this…..
If you workout, why do you do workout?
If you don’t workout, why do you think you should workout?
Take a moment to reflect on the question that pertains to you. Do you have a why? Or do you still need to find your
“why”? If you haven’t come up with an answer yet, it’s okay! Today, I’ll be sharing 5 good reasons to workout regularly.

5 GOOD REASONS TO WORKOUT REGULARLY
1. WORKOUT FOR A HEALTHY YOU
YOUR PHYSICAL HEALTH IS IMPORTANT
The most important WHY of them all: your physical HEALTH.
Did you know that the majority of all leading death causes (excluding accidents) are linked to physical health? And did you know that physical activity can help reduce the risk of numerous diseases such as cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and strokes? The beauty about our body is that it has the potential to prevent and heal itself from most diseases, given the correct treatment and care, of course.
TAKE CARE OF YOUR BODY
You were only given one body on this earth. So, why not take care of it?
How can you take care of your own health, you may ask?
By adopting healthy habits that will help you remain healthy or get healthier. Now, when I refer to adopting healthy habits, I’m not only referring to adopting a healthy diet, but adding physical activity to your daily routine, as well. Exercise and a healthy diet come hand in hand. Although both possess different qualities and benefits, they work side by side in order to produce a healthy YOU. So, don’t just rely on your “healthy diet” to live a sedentary lifestyle. A sedentary lifestyle is unhealthy, regardless of how well you eat.
ACTIVE YOU = HEALTHIER YOU
A healthy you is an active YOU. With that being said, if you don’t really like to exercise, let this why be the reason you choose to workout.
If not for you, for your body! Your body matters. Your health matters.
2. WORKOUT FOR A HAPPY YOU
Not to sound cliche, but mental health should be treated just as serious as physical health.
Mental health is no joke. It is real, serious and crucial to one’s well being.
EXERCISE HELPS YOU IMPROVE YOUR MENTAL HEALTH
If we work hard to ensure that our physical health is at its best, why not do the same for our mental health?
Now, I am in no way saying that exercise will cure mental health diseases. I wish.
However, exercise (physical activity) can potentially HELP improve your mental health.
(Pssssst……I previously wrote a post on 10 daily habits that help improve mental health (exercise being one of them), click here to read)
YOU’LL NEVER REGRET A WORKOUT
Exercise can help reduce feelings of sadness, depression and stress.
A good workout will make you release all kinds of endorphins, providing you with an ‘euphoric feeling’ sort-to-speak. I haven’t met a person yet that hasn’t felt happy and accomplished after a good (keyword: good) workout. When you have a successful workout (and you’ll know it when you do) you can’t help but feel happy, even if that is the only thing you have accomplished all day. And I’m speaking from personal experience.
So, if you can’t find a reason to workout, but you would like to give yourself the chance to try to improve your mental health, here is your WHY.
Exercise for a happier you.
3. WORKOUT FOR A FIT YOU
This is probably one of the most popular reasons why most people start working out. It’s probably my #2 reason why I personally workout.
Being, feeling and looking fit is the ultimate GOALS, isn’t it?
WORK FOR YOUR DREAM BODY
Who doesn’t want to have a somewhat perfect body (if those even exist)? Let’s be honest here, we all do. I mean…honestly…who would pass up on the opportunity of having toned arms, beautiful abs, slim legs and a round booty? NOT ME! But, guess what? Nothing worth having in life ever comes easy. So, if you want to look and feel fit, you have to work for it. In this case, regular physical activity may not be enough for you.
You will need to exercise consistently and hard to tone your body.
If being, feeling and looking FIT is the reason why you workout, don’t ever forget it! No matter how hard or exhausting it gets, think about why you started and what you’re working for. Keep working for that ideal/dream body.
4. WORKOUT FOR AN ACCOMPLISHED YOU
ANALYZING MASLOW’S HIERARCHY OF NEEDS
As human beings we are always looking to fulfill the need of feeling accomplished.
In Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs, Maslow describes through a pyramid the five needs we have as human beings: physiological needs, safety needs, belonging and love needs, esteem needs, and self actualization. The need of achievement/accomplishment falls under the “Esteem” category in the pyramid. As you can see (by looking at the pyramid), this part of the pyramid is beyond essential.
THAT FEELING OF ACCOMPLISHMENT
When you complete a successful workout, you can’t help but feel accomplished.
Regardless of how often you have been working out, you know that a good workout is never truly easy. It takes a lot of effort, strength and will to do. So, when you are able to survive and fight against all the pre-workout obstacles, you feel ACCOMPLISHED and proud.
And that feeling of accomplishment has the power to turn your mood around.
So, if you need to fulfill this need (we all do), this is your WHY! Workout for this need.
5. WORKOUT FOR A CONFIDENT YOU
Another human need belonging to the “Esteem Category” in Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs is the need of CONFIDENCE.
BOOSTING YOUR SELF ESTEEM
Exercise provides you with an external (I look amazing) and internal (I feel amazing) self-confidence.
Being able to complete exercises or workouts that you’ve never thought possible will make you feel powerful, accomplished and confident (not arrogant, don’t ever mix those two up). That confidence you feel after successfully being able to complete a workout is one of a kind.
It automatically boosts your self-esteem and makes you feel like the best version of yourself.
So, if self- confidence is what you’ve been looking for – here is your WHY. It won’t come easy, but it will surely be worth it.
“Self confidence is the best outfit, rock it and own it.”
