Not only should you add some type of exercise to your daily routine, but you should try to stay as active as possible during the day. THE IMPORTANCE OF WALKING DAILY
There are both physical and mental health benefits of walking daily. Just do a quick google search and you’ll be amazed!
If walking daily can help improve your health in any way, why not do it?
While it’s recommended to walk at least 30 minutes a day in order to maintain a good overall health, it’s not always easy to find 30 minutes to spare. I personally only walk for 20 minutes daily because of that’s how much free time I have for evening or morning walks.
So, since I only have time for 20 minute walks, I have to squeeze in more minutes for some activity during the day.
That’s why I have created a very convenient walking challenge for people who don’t have much time to walk and people who don’t like walking.
EASY WALKING CHALLENGE FOR BEGINNERS
Are you ready to learn about my easy walking challenge that will help you walk more, get your sedentary body moving, and increase your daily steps? If so, let’s get right to it!
WALKING CHALLENGE FOR BEGINNERS RULES
Walk three minutes for every hour of the day that you’re awake for.
Take three minutes (nothing more, nothing less) every hour to just walk.
You don’t have to go outside to walk, you can just walk right where you are.
This challenge begins the moment you wake up and ends the moment you go to bed.
For example, if you’re awake from 6 A.M – 11 P.M then you will walk three minutes for every one of the 17 hours that you’re awake for.
So by the end of the day, you should have walked for a total of 51 minutes. 51 MINUTES! What? Yeah, you read that right.

FUN THINGS TO DO WHILE WALKING:
1. PLAY A SONG
Choose a 3 minute (or longer) song that you love and walk until the song stops playing.
2. PRACTICE A FOREIGN LANGUAGE
Choose a 3 minute (or longer) song in a different language and take these three minutes to practice singing in a different language
3. REFLECT ON LIFE
Reflect on your goals, surroundings, achievements, blessings, and so on!
4. BRAINSTORM IDEAS
Whether you run a blog or a business, use these three minutes to brainstorm ideas for your next projects!
5. MEMORIZE THINGS
Take three minutes to get your brain working!
Choose a quote or a bible verse and repeat it over and over again (during the three minutes) until you memorize it.
EASY WALKING CHALLENGE PRINTABLE
I created a printable to help you keep track & be accountable for the 3 minutes you walk EVERY hour, so be sure to print it out!

This is EXACTLY what I need to get moving! At the moment I struggle to hit step targets then feel guilty about it but 3 minutes an hour sounds a lot more realistic and achievable so I’ll give this a go. 🙂
Thanks for sharing such a great post Gabby!
