ESV Interleaved Journaling Bible Review

Pink ESV Interleaved Journaling bible

Studying the Bible is essential for all believers because not only does the Bible nurture our soul, but it thoroughly unravels the mysteries that God has hidden from the world and saved for those who seek him. Noticed how I said “studying” instead of “reading”? There’s a huge difference between reading and studying the Bible. And that difference is the key. When you read the Bible, you only absorb what’s on the surface. However, when you study the Bible, you assimilate the depths of God’s Word. Which is why, I will be sharing all about the ESV Journaling Bible & how this journaling Bible has helped me study the Bible in a more creative and efficient manner.

THE IMPORTANCE OF BIBLE STUDY

Most people believe that church is the only place where we are able to have a connection with God. Or that church is the only place where we can feed our soul and learn about God. Don’t get me wrong, going to church is veeeerrrrry important. However, it is not the only place where you and I can learn about God.

LEARNING ABOUT GOD BEYOND CHURCH DOORS

We should learn about God in church, but continue learning and growing outside of church as well. Our connection with God shouldn’t end at church’s door. Our connection with God has no door, end or limit. Attending church and listening to preachings are both good habits that all Christians should have, but they shouldn’t be the only connections we have to God. We should want more, seek more and learn more! Which is why, taking time to study our bibles in our daily lives is important!

ENJOYING BIBLE STUDY TO THE FULLEST

Studying the bible doesn’t have to be boring. It can be a delightful experience as long as you make it into one. If you’re someone who is creative, interested in history, a book worm, or simply curious about God, you can definitely find a way to make your bible studying experience more delightful. I am personally one of those people that can’t read something without writing something down. Every time I read the Bible, I have to underline, highlight, circle, draw, create charts & diagrams, jot things down, etc. Doing these things help me stay focused, on track and interested in what I’m studying.

FINDING THE RIGHT BIBLE

As you can see, doing all of the things mentioned above on a regular bible can get kind of tricky. For starters, there isn’t much space to work on. I certainly don’t want to cover scripture with my notes or get my bible worn from writing on it too much.

THE ESV JOURNALING BIBLE

So that is where the lovely ESV Journaling Bible comes into play. After looking through many options, I found this beautiful and affordable Bible that is ideal for all the things mentioned above. I have been using this bible for the past months and I absolutely LOVE it! The ESV Journaling Bible is a Bible designed for side-to-side journaling. Every page of scripture includes a blank page next to it for journaling.

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THE ESV JOURNALING BIBLE

                    OUTSIDE:

  • The material is cloth over board!
  • The colors are pastel – my favorite!
  • It is aesthetically pleasing.
  • Appearance wise – this Bible serves as the perfect decor in your bedroom/office/workspace.
  • Durable binding.

INSIDE:

  • The paper is cream-colored.
  • There is one entire blank page next to a page in the bible – perfect for side-to-side journaling!
  • Includes through the bible in a year reading plan (takes you once through the old testament, twice through psalms and the new testament) I haven’t tried this plan yet, but it looks so fun!
  • It includes very helpful footnotes.

WHAT I DISLIKE ABOUT THE ESV JOURNALING BIBLE

  • It is heavy to carry around.
  • The font size is 7. It’s too small for my taste.
