Nowadays, it is so easy to get a good workout in without going to the gym, using any equipment or having a personal trainer. Why? One word, YouTube.
As many of you know, I am obsessed with home workouts because not only are they convenient (save time and money), but they are also effective. However, I admit that home workouts would not as effective without the presence of YouTube. YouTube makes it easy to workout at home because of the many incredible workout videos they provide. While there are many incredible fitness gurus I enjoy training with, Pamela Reif is by far my favorite. And in just a few minutes you’ll know why. WHO IS PAMELA REIF?
Pamela Reif is a 23 year old, German-born health, fitness and fashion model/social media star. She has a strong Instagram following of 4.2m followers, with over 1 million subscribers on YouTube and approximately 80 million views on all of her youtube videos combined. Pamela is clearly an internet sensation, but with reason!
WHY PAMELA REIF IS MY #1 FITNESS INSPIRATION
THE START OF MY FITNESS JOURNEY
After dealing with a horrible injury in 2017, I began my fitness journey for the second time in June of 2018. Since I was still fragile from my injury, I decided to slowly get back into fitness. So, I started off with the Bella Body Challenge – a ten day program that consists of doing 4 exercises each day for a minute each. Although I was only exercising for roughly 5 minutes every day, this workout challenge helped prepare my body. After repeating this program over and over again, my body felt stronger.
So, I was ready for a bigger challenge.
DISCOVERING PAMELA REIF
After completing the Bella Body Challenge, I decided to look up regular workout videos on YouTube. I can’t remember exactly what I searched, but the first video that caught my attention was Pamela Reif’s 20 Minute Full Body Workout.
I had never seen Pamela Reif before. However, the minute I saw Pamela, I knew that I wanted to look like her, be as strong as her, and be as passionate about fitness as her. So, I went ahead and tried her workout video. Her 20 minute full body workout not only kicked my ass, but it motivated me to dive into the fitness world.
Pamela’s passion for fitness was contagious to me. So much so, that after trying a few of her workouts, I became obsessed with fitness myself.
When I subscribed to her YouTube channel she only had around 8 workout videos. However, 8 videos were enough for me to work with. I would combine and spread her workout videos throughout the week. Little by little, I went from working out five minutes a day to one hour a day, five times a week.
INSPIRED BY PAMELA REIF
Pamela’s YouTube workouts helped me discover new exercises, variations of exercises, and modifications of exercises. A whole new world opened up to me.
I also started reading fitness books, anatomy books, fitness articles, etc. The idea of being like her – as passionate as she is at what she does motivated me to look after my health, learn about fitness, work on my fitness in a way I never have before and even contribute to the world of fitness with my workouts. Because of the growth I have seen in me inspired by her, I can proudly say that she is my # 1 fitness inspiration.
PAMELA REIF’S WORKOUT STYLE
All bias aside, her workout style is my by far my fave.
The majority of Pamela’s workouts consist of strength training bodyweight exercises. So, basically squats, planks, push-ups, reverse crunches, dips, and more. However, she is very creative with her workouts. Pamela creates workouts that are not only fun to follow, but are effective for your muscles.
Trust me, even her 10 minute workouts will have you dripping in sweat.
PAMELA’S INSTAGRAM & YOUTUBE CHANNEL
What I love about Pamela is that she provides workouts for all types of preferences. On Instagram, she shares some clips of her daily at-home or gym workouts. Her daily workouts usually involve weights or some kind of equipment (if she’s at the gym!) However, on her YouTube channel she shares full workouts that don’t require any equipment and could be done anywhere you want, even in your bedroom.
