1. ELECTRONIC DEVICES

The first thing you need to have in order to create stunning bullet journal spreads is some kind of electronic device. Whether that’s a computer, a phone, or a tablet, you’ll need an electronic device to help you find major bullet journaling inspiration and create the perfect bujo spreads! While you’re not going to create your bullet journal spreads digitally, having an electronic device on hand will help you find inspiration easily and effectively. Whenever I’m struggling to come up with new themes for my bullet journal, I like to draw inspiration from a couple of different places. Below I’m going to share different places you can draw inspiration from when you’re bullet journaling.

Pinterest

My absolute favorite place to get inspiration from is Pinterest. Pinterest is filled with LOADS of bullet journaling themes, ideas, designs, and inspiration. Simply create a free Pinterest account and use the search bar to look up themes, colors, aesthetics, designs, and page ideas that you want to use for your bullet journal.

Here’s how I use Pinterest to come up with a new theme:

1. I simply search up an idea I have. This can be any keyword: pineapples, beaches, plants, etc. This helps give me an idea of what I’m going to be drawing on my spreads. Searching up actual photos will also help me determine whether I want to go with this theme/vibe or not.

SEARCH – pineapples

2. If I like the keyword I have chosen (let’s say pineapples), then I would search the keyword plus the word “theme”. This will give me a bigger picture of how my theme idea has been used in real life celebrations, parties, events, etc.

SEARCH – pineapples theme

3. Lastly, I’ll search up the keyword plus “bullet journal theme” to see what kinds of spreads have already been created with this theme. The point of this is not to copy spreads that have been created, but to simply draw inspiration from them and see if this is something I want to create or not.

SEARCH – pineapples bullet journal theme

Blogs

The next place I like to find inspiration in is blogs. There are so many bullet journaling blog posts that can help you inspire yourself and find suitable bullet journal themes or page ideas to use. I personally have a couple of bullet journaling posts you may find helpful.
